All ladies need to watch this show
There is a British show called "How to look good naked" on the W network on Tuesdays. The show is not about changing but accepting that no matter what size or shape you are you can look beautiful both in and out of clothes. The host is an Asian stylist named Gok who builds the women's self-esteem to the point where they participate in a fashion show and have a nude/semi-nude photo taken of themselves. This is not a quick fix but he works with the women over a period of 8 weeks. In addition there are interviews with normal women in their underwear which helps to make the viewer understand that normal is not 5foot 10 and 110 pounds. If you are feeling down please take a look and realize that it is not so bad. The show also does product testing that shows that the most expensive beauty products tend to be less effective than the drugstore brands but on the whole none of them are very effective...so it's not that you are not using it correctly...the damn stuff is junk!

I will have to check that out. It sounds very interesting and very helpful. That's also why I like 'what not to wear'. It's not about your size it's about picking out the right styles of clothing.
yeah I remember some of the stuff they used to teach us in makeup and image consulting too. They used to lovingly refer to certain types of shampoo as 'dishsoap' because it was basically one lemonfresh scent away from it and made on the same line.
eek.
That and 15 is a total sunblock. Everything above that (at the time) was a higher number to prey on the fears of a sun paranoid society. 15 and 50 are going to do the same thing, and do you really want that much of ANYTHING touching your skin? yet, look at the price difference between a 15 spf and a 50 spf product.
aaahhh the tyranny of fashion.
Actually 15 and 60 are very different. I have a 60 sunblock (as it is a sunblock) for my skin that does work extremely different than a 15. Don't believe everything you are told. Talk to anyone that's had a skin cancer scare and they will tell you there is a difference.
Yeah Mel, but bear in mind it was over 15 years ago and they hadnt even developed spf/uvb sunscreens yet. whereas 15 may have been a total sunblock 15 years ago, I thoroughly agree that it is nowhere nearly as effective now and Im sure what they are teaching has changed to reflect that. As a makeup artist, i dont even recommend products that dont carry a sunscreen in them. As a person who has lost a sister and a nephew to cancer, as well as had precancerous tumours removed from my leg as well as being dragged off to LHSC every six months for testing because im considered high risk... I barely leave the house without at least a 45 on for most of the year.
Dude,., youve seen me burn. Im a redhead and it aint pretty.
My point was that fashion is fickle and fluid, and what they teach us one year about whats necessary or attractive one year may not necessarily be whats necessary or attractive the next year.. or even good for you.
Shockingly that show comes on in Korea. I'm surprised they are even acknowledging that such women exist, of course they are WESTERN women.
