Illiteracy

I was reading commentary on the Toronto Star's website, and normally I overlook the poor spelling and grammar. However, today there was a post railing against TTC workers that referred to them as "pre-Madonnas." I took a second look and then wondered what he/she thought that meant. I mean a Prima Donna makes sense both literally and figuratively. But what the hell would a pre-Madonna be? A high school cheerleader from Michigan bent on world domination? Or maybe Mary before Jesus?
