The last 6 weeks have been hectic. Andrew had his first set of exams, on which he did very well with final grades of 4 A's, a B+ and 2 B's. So he is all set for his second term provided the college professors don't strike.
For some reason the majority of my Grade 12's decided to wait until the last minute to get help with their college application essays, so that added to my winter camp burden of teaching 7 hours a day and marking 30 essays a day for my TOEFL and SAT classes. So I had 2 weeks of being up at 5 am to get all my work done.
We moved into my cousin Amy's house while she and James went to Las Vegas for 10 days to get married and have a honeymoon. We looked after their furry babies Taxi and Sloopy. The dogs were well behaved and got used to us being there very quickly although they were thrilled when James and Amy came home.
Aww Sloopy's so cute while asleep.
On Christmas Day we went to Niagara Falls and had dinner with Andrew's parents and Uncles and Aunts. It was nice and relaxed and we had a traditional turkey dinner.
On Boxing Day we learned that my Dad had had a stroke on Christmas Day and was in the hospital. Ed and Jana went with Mom to London where Dad had some tests performed to determine the damage. Then he was sent back to Goderich hospital. Ed drove back to Goderich and spent most of the week and then Andrew and I went down on New Years Day and stayed for the weekend. Dad has made good progress during the week and the doctors are confident that he will recover completely.
So needless to say we are glad to say goodbye to 2009 and happy to see 2010.
